The NBA draft combine is currently underway in Chicago and features Florida power forward Reuben Chinyelu, who is mulling whether he will enter the draft or return to Gainesville for his senior season.
Just two days into the combine, Chinyelu is already strengthening his professional outlook. The 2026 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year measured 6-feet-9.25-inches, 259-pounds and also posted a combine-best wingspan of 7-feet-7.5-inches. The Nigerian-born center’s standing reach came in among the field’s best at 9-feet-3.5-inches.
Chinyelu provided elite rim protection, interior presence and rebounding at the collegiate level and based on his physical traits, the 2025 NCAA champion is capable of translating that impact at the professional level.
Chinyelu declared for the NBA Draft back in April while maintaining his college eligibility. The 22-year-old has until May 27 to withdraw and return to Florida before that decision becomes irreversible.
