Security shields Lionel Messi from fan during FC Cincinnati-Miami game

A fan ran onto the field and approached MLS superstar Lionel Messi during FC Cincinnati’s 5-3 loss to Inter Miami CF at TQL Stadium.

The fan was escorted off the field by stadium security, which shielded Messi as the fan neared him, as shown in video via Twitter/X from Fox 19 and @Porters_Videos.

Messi scored twice for Inter Miami during the game. A third goal initially credited to Messi later was ruled an own goal by FC Cincinnati’s Roman Celentano.

With the win in Cincinnati, Inter Miami CF extended its road winning streak to seven.
