Statewide Illinois High School Association girls track and field sectionals were held Wednesday, May 13.
From each sectional, the top two placers along with qualifying performances advance to the IHSA state finals on May 21-23 at Eastern Illinois University’s O’Brien Stadium in Charleston.
Below are the Peoria-area athletes who earned a spot in the finals, listed by sectional. First and second place winners along with those meeting the qualifying standards advance to the state finals. Qualifying times and distances are in parentheses.
A total of 138 entries from local schools earned spots at state from six sectionals on Wednesday, May 13. Two Peoria-area Class 1A sectionals are scheduled for Thursday, May 14.
