The Minnesota Vikings are targeting Detroit Lions assistant general manager Ray Agnew as a candidate for its general manager vacancy.
Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Vikings have requested an interview with Lions assistant GM Ray Agnew. The Vikings have also requested interviews with Denver Broncos assistant GM Reed Burckhardt and Miami Dolphins assistant GM Kyle Smith.
Agnew joined the Lions in 2021. Agnew assists Lions executive vice president and general manager Brad Holmes with all functions of the player personnel department, roster construction and team building.
With Agnew’s assistance, the Lions clinched Detroit’s first division championship since 1993 and advanced to the club’s first NFC Championship since 1991 during the 2023 season. Then, the Lions secured back-to-back NFC North Division titles for the first time in 2024.
The Lions’ 15-2 record in 2024 also marked the most regular season wins in franchise history and meant Detroit captured the NFC’s No. 1 seed for the first time in franchise history.
