Need ideas on where to take your family and friends this summer? Love theme parks but would rather avoid them during Florida’s scorching summer weather?
Good news! Walt Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon waterpark has reopened for the summer following its seasonal refurbishment.
According to Inside The Magic, the waterpark has been closed since February. It also adds that its refurbishment was not for any reimagining or new attractions; rather, it was for “behind-the-scenes mechanical and infrastructure maintenance that a water park requires to function reliably at high volume.”
When will Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon open?
Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon will be open for the summer starting today, May 12.
How much are Disney World water park tickets?
According to Disney’s website, its water park tickets cost $74 for guests ages 10 and older and $68 for children ages 3 to 9. They also have slightly cheaper tickets; however, blockout dates do apply.
Lower prices and product offerings are available year-round for annual passholders and Disney Vacation Club members.
Is Disney’s Blizzard Beach open?
Yes, Disney’s Blizzard Beach is open to the public and will be throughout the summer.
What is the difference between Disney Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach?
One of the more obvious differences is each park’s theming: a snow-covered coast or a tropical oasis born out of a storm. Blizzard Beach is themed around a ski resort that “melted” into a frosty fun water park, where Typhoon Lagoon is centered around a typhoon that wreaked havoc upon a formerly pristine paradise.
As for attractions, both waterparks offer plenty of slides, pools and lazy rivers for guests to enjoy. There’s no single “winner” for attractions; it depends on your family’s preferences.
