The start of the 2026 NCAA Softball Tournament is nearly here, with the regional round starting across the country on Friday. The FSU Seminoles are the No. 9 overall seed in the tournament and are hosting the Tallahassee Regional for the 12th straight season.
They are looking to make a return to the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, but will face some tough competition to make it happen. Up first, they will have to win their regional over the UCF Knights, Jacksonville State Gamecocks, and Stetson Hatters. The double-elimination tournament will start on Friday and last until Sunday.
The winner of that will then advance to the super regionals, where they will face the winner of the Los Angeles Regional, which is hosted by the UCLA Bruins and includes the South Carolina Gamecocks, Cal State Fullerton Titans, and California Baptist Lancers. The two winners will play a best-of-three series with the winner advancing to the WCWS and a shot at the national championship.
Florida State won the tournament in 2018 and finished as the runner-up in 2021 and 2023. They will start their journey to Oklahoma City on Friday when they play Stetson in the first game of the Tallahassee Regional. They are 17-1 against Stetson all-time.
