Guardians lineup, live score updates today vs. Twins

CLEVELAND — The first-place Guardians are scheduled to complete a three-game series against the last-place Minnesota Twins on Sunday, May 10, at Progessive Field.

The Guardians beat the Twins 6-4 Friday, May 8, and lost 2-1 in extra innings Saturday, May 9. These results occurred after the Guardians won four of seven games on their last road trip, winning two out of three against the Athletics from May 1-3 and splitting a four-game series against the Royals from May 4-7.

Rojas walks Travis Bazzana and then gets Patrick Bailey to hit a pop up between the mound and home plate that Twins first baseman Kody Clemens runs over catches to end the inning.

Guardians record double-play to keep Twins scoreless in second inning

Guardians first baseman Kyle Manzardo and pitcher Gavin Williams combined for a double-play to end the Twins at bat in the second inning.

Williams struck out Josh Bell looking to begin the second. Austin Martin walked and attempted to steal second base. As Martin headed towards second base, Luke Keaschall hit a pop up in foul territory that Guardians first baseman Kyle Manzardo caught. Manzardo proceeded to flip the ball to Williams to end the inning.

Twins starter Andrew Morris retires Guardians in order in first inning

Twins starter Andrew Morris retired the Guardians in order in the first inning as “the opener.” Steven Kwan and Chase DeLauter each grounded out and José Ramírez lined out. Shortstop Brooks Lee and first baseman Kody Clemens accounted for the Kwan out. Second baseman Luke Keaschall and Clemens accounted for the DeLauter out. Ramírez lined out to Lee.

Guardians starter Gavin Williams retired the Twins in order in the first inning. Williams struck out Byron Buxton and Trevor Larnach looking, and Ryan Jeffers grounded out, 5-3 (Guardians third baseman Daniel Schneemann to first baseman Kyle Manzardo).
