The main road out of downtown West Palm Beach will be closed overnight this weekend as transportation officials make emergency repairs to a railroad crossing.
The westbound lanes of Okeechobee Boulevard are shutting to vehicles and pedestrians from 11 p.m. Saturday, May 9, until 7 a.m. Sunday, May 10, at the CSX railroad tracks just west of Parker Avenue, the city announced.
The closure will allow workers for the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority, which operates the Tri-Rail commuter train service, to make emergency repairs at the railroad crossing.
Traffic will be detoured to alternate routes during the overnight closure.
