Sault's Savoie named 2026 MBA Banker of the Year

Mark Savoie, president and CEO of Central Savings Bank, was recently named as the recipient of the 2026 MBA Banker of the Year award by the Michigan Bankers Association (MBA). 

According to the MBA Board of Directors, Savoie was selected in recognition of his dedication to the MBA, significant contributions to the banking industry and his commitment to community service.

“The Michigan Bankers Association made an exceptional choice in naming Mark R. Savoie the 2026 Banker of the Year,” said Eric Beckhusen, MBA chairman and chairman and CEO of Century Bank and Trust, in the announcement. “Mark is an energetic and inspiring leader who cultivates a strong culture of teamwork and involvement, recognizing the important role bankers play in strengthening their communities. His leadership has driven Central Savings Bank’s continued success and growth, a testament to his commitment and forward-thinking vision.”

Savoie has over 30 years of experience in banking. Along with being actively involved in the MBA, he has held leadership roles at St. Mary’s School, Lake Superior State University, the Public Employees of Sault Ste. Marie Health Care Investment Board, the Elks Club and the Early Childhood Investment Corporation State of Michigan Board. Savoie also serves on the local and state boards of My Michigan Health and is a member of the Central Savings Bank Board of Directors.

He will be honored at the MBA’s 140th Annual Convention on Mackinac Island in June.
