If Cameron Young is looking for a caddie, the greatest major champion of all time might be looking for some work.
Jack Nicklaus praised Cameron for his victory at the Cadillac Championship while pointing out on social media the enormous checks Young has cashed for his two victories this year at The Players Championship and Cadillac.
“My. My. My. Oh, how times have changed!” Nicklaus wrote. “I just saw a man win for the second time in less than two months and win almost as much money in those victories ($8.1 million) than I won in my entire career on both the @pgatour and @pgatourchampions — combined! Well played, Cameron Young! Nice going! Now, can I get a job caddying next week?!”

Nicklaus then posted a smiling emoji.
Young, who lives in Palm Beach Gardens, is a member at Nicklaus’ Bear’s Club in Jupiter.
The numbers are staggering when you consider the man many believe to be the greatest golfer of all time with 18 major championships, 73 wins on the PGA Tour, 10 titles on the PGA Tour Champions and nearly 120 wins worldwide as a professional, is No. 396 on the PGA Tour career money list.
Nicklaus, who lives in North Palm Beach, won $5,734,031 in prize money on the PGA Tour and $3,372,207 on the champions tour.
Nicklaus, 86, was passed on the PGA Tour career money list this week by Matt McCarty, who earned $500,000 for placing T9 at the Cadillac Championship. McCarty, 28, has one win and seven top 10s in his career.
Young’s reward for winning the Cadillac ($3.6 million) and Players ($4.5 million) is about $1 million shy of Nicklaus’ total from both tours. The 28-year-old has earned just more than $36 million in his PGA Tour career, which includes three titles.
Jack Nicklaus believes he knows why Cameron Young is playing so well
Nicklaus added that he believes Young’s recent success is a product of starting to believe in himself.
“Seriously, it is nice to see a good player who now really believes in himself. Winning breeds winning. When you’ve won and then put yourself in that position again, you believe and you’re confident you can win again. It was obvious—when Cam led from the start of the @cadillacchampionship until the end—that he truly had faith in his game and himself to close out another victory. That mentality helps propel a player into a successful career very, very quickly.
“Congratulations Cam! I’m proud and happy for you! Now, about that caddie job next week.”
