The official Florida residence of Miami’s Consulate General of Norway is on the market for $10.9 million.
The unique Coral Gables home, located at 6120 Riviera Drive, is one of just a handful in the city that includes a covered boathouse. Built in 1954, the one-story home combines a mix of international diplomacy and South Florida waterfront history.
“This property is one of only 27 true covered boathouses on the Coral Gables Waterway, a grandfathered amenity and part of the area’s legacy waterfront infrastructure that cannot be replicated under today’s regulations,” said Liz Hogan, listing agent with Compass. “It also offers 175 feet of prime water frontage, something you don’t often see along this stretch of the waterway.”
Here are some of the features in the Consulate General of Norway’s Miami home
The more than 6,000-square-foot home includes a three bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom main house.
There’s also a two-bedroom, one-bathroom guest house that has direct access to the boathouse. The covered boathouse is unique because under current zoning laws, homes can no longer have covered boathouses.
The expansive outdoor area features a pool, cabana and lush landscaping. Features inside the home include marble, plenty of natural light and built-in, walk-in closets.
What, who is the Consulate General of Norway in Miami?
The Honorary Consul Cathrine T. Prestroenning currently holds the position.
The position is appointed by the Norwegian government, typically to a U.S. national. Those appointed represent Norway on a voluntary basis, provide consular assistance to Norwegian citizens, promote Norwegian interests, and further bilateral cooperation in their region.
In addition to having an office in Miami, Tampa also has a Norwegian Honorary Consulate.
