Vote for PuroClean of Melbourne Boys Athlete of Week for Apr 27-May 3

It is time to vote for the PuroClean of Melbourne Boys Athlete of the Week at 321preps.com and floridatoday.com.

The following athletes were nominated for their performances from April 27-May 3.

Voting will be open until noon on Thursday, May 7. Votes are restricted to once per device per hour.

The last winner was Christopher Gordon of Rockledge track. Find a list of the 2025-26 winners at the bottom.

Coaches and athletic directors are invited to nominate athletes each week. E-mail the athlete’s accomplishments for the previous Monday through Saturday to Prepscores@floridatoday.com by 10 a.m. each Sunday.

Here are this week’s nominees:

Rylan Reyes, Cocoa Beach track

Reyes won the 1600m (4:32.15) at the Class 2A, Region 2 track meet. He also was part of the first place 4×800 relay team and the second-place 4×400 relay team. In addition, he took third in the 800m.

Jesse Decter, Merritt Island baseball

Decter pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits while walking one and striking out seven in a 3-2 Game 1 win over American Heritage in the Class 4A playoffs on May 1.

Michal Paul, Viera track

Paul took first place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.17 at the Class 4A, Region 2 meet. He was also part of the 4×400 relay that took second place as well as taking second place in the long jump.

Nathaniel Owens, Heritage track

Ownes won both the long jump (7.44m) and triple jump (14.63m) events in the Class 4A, Region 2 track meet.

Desmond Scott Jr., Rockledge track

Scott won the high jump (2.03m) at the Class 3A, Region 4 track meet. He also took seventh in the long jump.

Evan Spreitzer, Holy Trinity track

Spreitzer won the 1600m (4:23.65) and 3200m (9:16.39) while also being part of the first place 4×800 relay team at the Class 1A, Region 2 track meet.
