Wisconsin women's basketball guard announces transfer destination

Losing players to the transfer portal is never easy, but thankfully, the Wisconsin Badgers women’s basketball program has done a fantastic job this offseason.

Soon-to-be senior guard Breauna Ware is set to play for her fourth team in four seasons. Even though she started 13 of the 25 games she appeared in under Robin Pingeton, it’s clear the 5-foot-7 guard believes she’s best off finishing her career outside of Madison.

On Friday, May 1, Talia Goodman announced Ware has committed to Wake Forest. It’s worth noting that Ware averaged a career low 5.4 points per game a year ago, so her decision to transfer was yet another instance of college athletes using the portal to get the most out of their time in college.

The New York native was one of the few Badgers to transfer. Most notably, Kyrah Daniels removed her name from the portal, which was a huge boost to Pingeton’s squad in her second year with the team.
