Fairfield County road closures, new roundabout project begin soon

The Ohio Department of Transportation has the following ongoing project, and a major one starting on June 1.

U.S. 33 and Pickerington Road Interchange: The project involves the construction of a new interchange facility at the intersection of U.S. Route 33 and Pickerington Road. The project will involve the replacement of the at-grade intersections of Pickerington Road and U.S. 33 as well as Pickerington Road and the railroad crossing. Continued Impacts: All lanes are currently maintained throughout the project.

Roundabout project on Ohio 158: Beginning June 1, the intersection of Ohio 158 and Coonpath Road in Fairfield County will close to traffic for the creation of a roundabout. Estimated project completion is November 2026. Detour: SR 158 to U.S. 22 to SR 37 to SR 256 to SR 158 and reverse.

Ohio 158 will be restricted to one lane of alternating traffic with flaggers for paving in Licking and Fairfield counties. Work will take place during daylight hours and is expected to be complete July 2026.

County road closure

The Fairfield County Engineer’s Office announced that the following road will be closed for the dates listed below:

Reason for Closure: Remove and replace the existing CulvertOakland-Stoutsville Road SW (CR 75) will be closed on May 11, 2026, through May 15, 2026. This closure will take place on Oakland-Stoutsville Road SW, between Sixteenth Road and Bussart Road.

Construction will take place between the addresses of 8700 and 8615 Oakland-Stoutsville Road SW.
