Pensacola man arrested for fatal hit-and-run almost a year later

A Pensacola man was arrested last week in connection with a fatal 2025 hit-and-run involving a pedestrian, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

On April 24, Kenneth Earl Bodley Jr. arrested by Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Investigations for an active warrant stemming from a crashthat occurred on June 20, 2025.

The crash involved a pedestrian that was hit by a SUV at the intersection of U.S. Nine Mile Road and University Parkway and pronounced dead after being tranported to the hospital.

The SUV fled the scene and was later identified as belonging to Bodley. After an investigation, the FHP determined Bodley was the driver of the SUV at the time ofthe crash.

Bodley was booked into the Escambia County Jail with no bond and is awaiting a bond hearing for one count of leaving the scene of a crash involving death, according to the FHP.
