A 25-year-old Canton man pleaded guilty April 28 to multiple counts in the deadly 2025 Halloween party shooting in Springfield Township that killed 39-year-old Brian Cofer and wounded another.
Appearing in Summit County Common Pleas Court, Terrance Williams pleaded guilty to two counts of felonious assault, involuntary manslaughter and a three-year firearm specification. He had faced two counts of murder, six counts of felonious assault and one count of obstructing justice.
Defense attorneys Noah Munyer and Marie DiCola represent William, who entered the plea on the eve of his scheduled jury trial.
“We are grateful for the work of the Prosecutor’s Office, Springfield Police Department and Judge Towell in reaching this resolution,” Munyer said. “We believe it is a fair result following this tragic incident.”
Judge Jennifer Towell will sentence Williams at 1 p.m. on June 9.
Another man, 25-year-old Christian Diaz-Sauceda of Canton, is charged with two counts of felonious assault. Attorney Troy Reeves represents him.
Halloween party shooting left one dead, another injured
