Four-star Anna High (Texas) interior offensive lineman Peyton Miller committed to the Florida Gators on Monday.
Miller is the second blue-chip offensive lineman to make a pledge to Florida this month, giving new offensive line coach Phil Trautwein a couple of big wins on the recruiting trail. Five-star interior lineman Maxwell Hiller committed on April 8.
Trautwein wanted Miller at Penn State, but the distance from home was a bit of an issue, according ot 247Sports. There was mutual interest between the two, however, thanks to Trautwein’s history of developing NFL linemen. His interest carried over when Trautwein joined Jon Sumrall’s staff at Florida.
The 6-foot-5-inch, 290-pound prospect picked the Orange and Blue over Arizona State, Clemson, Texas, Texas Tech and SMU, among others.
Florida is up to 10 commits in the 2027 class and is ranked No. 10 by 247Sports.
Recruiting Summary
ESPN is the highest on Miller, ranking him inside the top 100 overall at No. 68 and as the top center in the class of 2027. 247Sports puts him at No. 143 nationally and No. 8 among interior offensive linemen. Rivals is the lowest on him at Nos. 258 and No. 18, respectively.
Among composite rankings, 247Sports has Miller higher at Nos. 124 and 9. The Rivals industry ranking has him just a bit lower at Nos. 130 and 10.
Scouting Report
Here’s what 247Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks said in an April report on Miller:
“Versatile offensive lineman with physical specs that could move around the front. Possesses valuable snapping experience as a true center. Three-sport athlete with experience in shot put/discus and wrestling. Adequate athlete in close quarters.
“Testing numbers suggest significant athletic potential. Higher center of gravity for an IOL, but works to gain leverage. Hand placement is a plus. High-floor player in pads with multi-sport markers and position value that point to significant developmental upside. Projects to the P4 level with the possibility of playing beyond college.”
