MADISON – The Wisconsin staff isn’t just scoring with in-state recruits.
It has also locked in a top-flight quarterback.
Jack Sorgi, 6-foot-4, 205-pound player from Tri-West High School in Lizton, Indiana announced his commitment to the Badgers on Friday, April 24. Sorgi’s father, Jim, played for the Badgers from 2000-03 and spent six years in the NFL, all as Peyton Manning’s backup in Indianapolis.
Rivals broke the news of Sorgi’s commitment and Sorgi reposted the announcement on his social media accounts. He is considered a four-star prospect by Rivals and 247sports. ESPN gave him three stars.
He was previously committed to Louisville, but he decommitted March 8.
The next day he announced offers from Arkansas, Memphis and Wisconsin on X. He attended a Wisconsin practice on April 18 where he connected with Badger commits like tight end Korz Loken and edge rusher Isaac Miller.
Sorgi will be entering his third year as a starter at Hendricks. According to MaxPreps, Sorgi has 4,679 career passing yards. Last season he completed 178 of 291 passes (.612) for 2,911 yards, 31 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
He has completed 60.4% of his passes for his career.
Sorgi is the ninth player to commit to Wisconsin’s 2027 class. Sorgi is the fifth player in the class with a four-star rating (Rivals).
The commitment continues the momentum of the Badgers’ ’27 class.
As of 1 p.m. April 24 the class is ranked 15th in the country by 247sports and 18th in the country by Rivals.
Sorgi’s family celebrated the commitment with a post on X. It said:
“You’ve loved Wisconsin football for as long as we can remember … now watching that dream become reality has been so amazing and seeing you continue your dad’s legacy makes it even more special. We are so proud of you Jack! On Wisconsin.”
