Voters in townships and villages throughout Richland County will see a few special items on their ballots this spring.
Ohio’s primary election is May 5. Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Village of Plymouth
Plymouth voters will decide a 6-mill, five-year property tax renewal for the village.
That tax covers villages expenses.
If renewed, the tax will remain in effect through 2030.
Perry Township
Voters in Perry Township will decide a 2.5-mill, five-year property tax renewal for the township’s fire department.
That tax helps cover the cost of equipment, buildings, materials, services, payroll and other needs of the department, according to a sample ballot.
If renewed, it will remain in effect through 2030.
Springfield Township
Residents of Springfield Township will decide the fate of two property tax renewals for the township’s fire department.
The first tax is a 2-mill, five-year property tax renewal. The second is a 0.5-mill, five-year property tax renewal.
Those taxes help cover the cost of equipment, buildings, materials, services, payroll and other needs of the department, according to a sample ballot.
If renewed, those taxes will remain in effect through 2030.
Village of Bellville
Bellville voters will decide a local liquor option for Sunday sale of wine and mixed beverages at Englefield Inc., which is the Duchess Mart at 860 Ohio 87 in Bellville, near the I-71 exit.
If passed, that option would continue in perpetuity.
