Vote for the Varsity 845 boys baseball players of the week

The Varsity 845 boys baseball players of the week polls are online for April 13-19. Information was utilized on reports gathered by Varsity 845 and nominations. Coaches are encouraged to provide their game reports in order for athletes to be chosen; they may also nominate one player from their team by Sunday afternoon.

One athlete per school is allowed per week. A poll winner will be ineligible for the next poll.

Liam Keller (Newburgh), James Tobin (Newburgh), Rudy Schouten (Port Jervis) and Brayden Soma (Marlboro) won the polls conducted last week.

Go to RecordOnline.com/sports/high-school and vote as often as you like until Sunday, April 26, at 11 p.m. The winners will be announced each week on the @Varsity845 account on X/Twitter.

Varsity 845 boys baseball player of the week (April 13-19, large)

Braeden Burke, Monroe-Woodbury

He earned the win, fanning 12, as the Crusaders beat Middletown 4-1 on April 13.

Ben Dortort, Wallkill

He hit a grand slam, RBI single and scored four times as the Panthers beat Lourdes 9-6 on April 13.

Preston Dwyer, Warwick

He fanned nine batters as the Wildcats bowed to Washingtonville 6-3 on April 13.

Cody Hanson, Pine Bush

He fanned nine batters as the Bushmen nipped Newburgh 3-2 on April 13.

Jayden Hines, Newburgh

He had a double, two singles and an RBI as the Goldbacks bowed to Pine Bush 3-2 on April 13. On April 15, he added two singles, a homer and two RBI in a 6-5 loss to Pine Bush.

Brayden Parise, Kingston

His second single produced a go-ahead RBI as the Tigers beat Roosevelt 7-6 on April 18.

Angel Raposo, Washingtonville

He had a double and two singles in the Wizards’ 7-3 loss to Minisink Valley on April 17. He had a double and three RBI in a 21-6 win over Liberty on April 15.

Rich Roohan, Cornwall

He had two hits and three RBI as the Dragons beat Valley Central 6-1 on April 16.

Brady Scheuerer, Goshen

He had two singles, a double and three RBI as the Gladiators beat Monticello 14-1 on April 13.

Ben Sinsabaugh, Minisink Valley

He got the win, fanning eight, adding three hits and two RBI as the Warriors beat Valley Central 6-3 on April 13. He had a go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning in a 7-3 win over Washingtonville on April 17.

Daniel Benzinger, Burke Catholic

He had a walk-off two-run homer as the Eagles beat Chester 5-4 on April 16.

Nash Byrne, New Paltz

He fanned nine for the win as the Huguenots beat Rondout Valley 10-0 on April 15.

Nathan Closs, Tri-Valley

He had two hits and three RBI as the Bears beat Eldred 6-2 on April 13. On April 15, he won in relief, adding three singles and an RBI in a 7-2 win over Rockland.

Liam Correa, Marlboro

He had two singles, two doubles and an RBI as the Dukes beat Rondout Valley 11-4 on April 13. On April 15, he fanned six, adding a single, in a 4-0 loss to Red Hook. On April 16, he homered in a 5-2 loss to Wallkill.

Cole Curreri, Port Jervis

He won a five-hitter, fanning eight, and added three hits and four RBI as the Raiders beat Liberty 22-0 on April 13.

Nick DeRosa, S.S. Seward

He homered as the Spartans beat Eldred 8-5 on April 15.

Mason Diaz, Chester

He had three hits and an RBI as the Hambletonians’ 8-2 win over Beacon on April 15.

Aaron Drucker, Sullivan West

He fanned nine in a 13-0 loss to Burke on April 13.

Connor Elliot, Highland

He had three hits and three RBI as the Huskies beat Dover 13-4 on April 15. He had a double and single in an 8-6 loss to Saugerties on April 18.

Andres Gutierrez, New Paltz

He had two hits for the Huguenots in a 9-6 win over Red Hook on April 13. He earned the win, fanning four, in a 5-2 win over Roosevelt on April 16.

Luke Johnson, Rondout Valley

He had a double, single and RBI as the Ganders bowed to Marlboro 11-4 on April 13.

Corey Pesce, Saugerties

He hit a go-ahead two-run single in the final inning as the Sawyers nipped Red Hook 8-7 on April 16.

Connor Rhodes, James I. O’Neill

He got the win, fanning 10, as the Raiders beat Liberty 12-2 on April 17.

Everett Schwartz, Liberty

He had two hits and two RBI in the Redhawks’ 21-6 loss to Washingtonville on April 15.

Easton Vallenga, Chapel Field

He won a one-hitter as the Lions blanked Seward 13-0 on April 13.

Evan Zgrodek, Eldred

He fanned 13 in the Yellowjackets’ 6-2 loss to Tri-Valley on April 13.
