PEORIA — The Bradley Braves were looking to get bigger in their frontcourt, and they got what they were looking for from the transfer portal.
Joshua Ibukunoluwa, a forward with center size, visited the BU campus over the weekend and committed Sunday night. The 6-foot-10, 232-pounder arrives from High Point.
He came off the bench for 41 games over the last two seasons at High Point, averaging 3.0 points per game, 2.4 rebounds while shooting 59.5% from the field in 8.3 minutes.
Ibukunoluwa is athletic, and he could see some time as a forward. High Point used him primarily on lob plays in the pivot and as a defensive asset.
He was part of High Point University’s two-time Big South Tournament championship teams.
The Braves are hoping Ibukunoluwa signs this week. They have two scholarships left, but the team plans to use just one.
Bradley is believed to be chasing another big man for that final spot.
