One of the area’s premier prospects is a Cardinal.
Cardinal Mooney defensive lineman Kaleb Exume announced his commitment to Louisville on April 19, naming the ‘Cards over Indiana, Virginia Tech, Kansas, and others.
Exume (6-foot-2, 310 pounds) is ranked as the No. 56 overall recruit in the USA TODAY Florida Network Top 100 and the No. 7 DL in the state.
“The coaching staff is amazing,” Exume said after announcing his commitment. “The way they showed love for me, that they appreciate me and that they need me on the team.”
Exume transferred into to Cardinal Mooney this offseason after a standout junior campaign at Parrish Community that saw him tally 78 tackles with 22.5 tackles for loss and 6.0 sacks, along with three pass breakups and three forced fumbles. He says he’s already feeling the love from the Louisville faithful less than a day after committing.
“I can’t wait to experience all all the fans in that big ole’ stadium,” he said. “I’ve noticed how much love and support I’ve gotten since I’ve committed there.”
Louisville now holds three commitments from players in the USA TODAY Florida Top 100. Exume joins Carrollwood Day ATH Brooklyn Maxey (No. 61 overall) and South Fort Myers DL Cornelius Tims III (No. 98 overall).
