Ball State women's basketball transfer portal tracker | Who's leaving?

With UCLA’s victory over South Carolina in the NCAA National Championship, the 2025-26 women’s college basketball season has officially come to an end.

With that, the transfer portal is officially open for two weeks from Monday, April 6, through Monday, April 20. Ball State women’s basketball has already seen a handful of players declare their intentions to explore the portal.

The Cardinals are coming off a 26-7 season in which they split the Mid-American Conference regular season title but lost in the semifinals of the MAC Tournament. Last year, Ball State found two starters from the transfer portal in Karsyn Norman and Bree Salenbien. The latter went on to become a first-team All-MAC player for the Cardinals.

Ball State women’s basketball transfer portal additions

Helen Holley, San Diego

Ball State women’s basketball picked up its first transfer portal commitment from San Diego forward Helen Holley. She announced that she had signed with the Cardinals on her Instagram on Friday, April 17.

Holley began her college career at Michigan State, where she appeared in nine games and averaged 0.4 points and 1 rebound in 37 total minutes of action. The 6-foot-1 forward transferred to San Diego ahead of the 2025-26 season and appeared in 32 games with 20 starts. Holley averaged 3 points and shot 39.6% from the floor in 18.1 minutes per game. She will come to Muncie as a true junior with two seasons of eligibility.

Ball State women’s basketball transfer portal losses

Laura Martinez

Ball State’s Laura Martinez will explore her options in the transfer portal, according to On3’s women’s basketball transfer portal tracker.

Martinez was one of three Ball State recruits from Spain and one of six international players on the Cardinals’ 2025-26 roster. She played sparingly in her freshman season with six appearances in which she averaged 1.2 points in four minutes per game.

Violeta Rojas

Ball State’s Violeta Rojas will enter the transfer portal, according to On3’s women’s basketball transfer portal tracker.

One of three Ball State players from Spain, Rojas appeared in five games for the Cardinals in the 2025-26 season, averaging 1.8 points and 1.2 rebounds in five minutes per game. She began her career at the junior college level with Trinidad State, where she averaged 20.1 points per game in her lone season there.

Alba Caballero

Ball State’s Alba Caballero will explore the transfer portal after one season in Muncie, according to a report from On3’s Talia Goodman on Saturday, March 28.

Caballero was one of three Spaniards to join Ball State’s roster ahead of the 2025-26 season. During her prep career in Spain, she earned multiple national championship medals, including a Gold National Championship Medal of Communities and a Silver Medal at the European Young Olympics. She also earned spots on Spain’s U13, U14, U15, U16, U17 and U18 national team rosters. In her one season at Ball State, Caballero made 23 appearances and averaged 4.2 points and 5 rebounds in 14.5 minutes per game. She will have three years of eligibility left.

Brooke Winchester

Ball State’s Brooke Winchester posted a statement to X, formerly Twitter, on Friday, March 27, announcing her intentions to enter the transfer portal.

A former Indiana All-Star for Warsaw High School, Winchester was the Cardinals’ lone freshman recruit from the United States in their 2025 recruiting class. She made 10 appearances as a true freshman and averaged 2.3 points and 1.4 rebounds in 6.3 minutes per game. Winchester will have three years of eligibility left.

Ashlynn Brooke

Ball State’s Ashlynn Brooke announced she would enter the transfer portal on Saturday, March 21. Brooke posted a statement to both X, formerly Twitter, and Instagram announcing the decision.

A former Indiana All-Star and state champion at Pioneer High School, Brooke spent three seasons in Muncie from 2023-26. She saw action in 10 games as a freshman but missed the entirety of her sophomore season with a knee injury suffered in the winter of 2024. During the 2025-26 season, Brooke appeared in 24 games for the Cardinals, averaging 2.7 points in eight minutes per game. She will enter the portal as a graduate student with two years of eligibility remaining.

Northern Illinois women’s basketball announced that Brooke had signed with the Huskies on Tuesday, April 7.

Zuri Ransom

Ball State’s Zuri Ransom announced her intentions to enter the transfer portal in a statement posted to Instagram on Thursday, March 19.

Ransom was recruited to Ball State after a standout high school career at Evanston High School in Evanston, Ill. As a freshman in the 2024-25 season, she appeared in 24 games and averaged 2.2 points and 1.1 rebounds in 9.4 minutes per game. Her playing time declined in 2025-26, as Ransom averaged just 4.8 minutes per game in 13 appearances. As a rising true junior, she will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Ransom announced her commitment to Western Michigan via Instagram on Friday, April 17.
