Michael Mayer describes big difference between Kelly and Freeman

Former Notre Dame tight end Michael Mayer was one a few players who was coached by former Irish coach Brian Kelly and current coach Marcus Freeman.

There is clearly a big difference between the two, and the current Las Vegas Raider was asked a few years ago by the “Bussin With the Boys” podcast comparing the two, as the clip recently went viral again. The answer was simple, being present.

Mayer went on to say that Freeman was always around the program, regardless of what was going on. Kelly, on the other hand “would never be around during the summers,” which is a big deal. It’s shortly before the season starts, and getting the team in the proper mindset is extremely important.

We all know now that Freeman has been a huge upgrade from Kelly, and Mayer’s comments have given everyone yet another reason why that is the case.
