New dessert shop delivers decadent ice cream sundaes after dark

A dessert shop that’s become a TikTok sensation for its late-night deliveries of decadent “fully loaded, over-the-top ice cream sundaes” is opening its first Florida location at Tinseltown in Jacksonville.

The Scoop N Scootery, a fast-growing Boston-based chain known for its indulgent toppings, innovative flavor combinations, and “vibrant late-night atmosphere,” celebrates its grand opening at 2 p.m. April 18 at 9734 Deer Lake Court, Suite 5.

“We thrive on late-night deliveries until 2 a.m. Customers can enjoy indoor and outdoor seating if they come in store,” Isabella Sidoruk, chief marketing director for The Scoop N Scootery, told the Times-Union via email April 13.

Sidoruk said the delivery radius is “10 miles from the store.”

The Scoop N Scootery took over the roughly 1,188-square-foot space vacated by CamiCakes Cupcakes, which closed in January 2025 after about 19 years.

The ice cream shop is located across from Culhane’s Irish Pub in Tinseltown. It also neighbors other established restaurants such as Tequilas D’ Oro, Mellow Mushroom, Terra Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse and Purple Roots Filipino Fare + Panaderia, as well as  Cinemark Tinseltown and XD movie theater.

The Jacksonville shop is locally owned and operated. The franchisees, Sanjay Jaya and Divyan Bijal, have been in the area for the last 20 years. They wanted to bring a unique style, late-night ice cream delivery concept into the market, Sidoruk said.

Sweet treats delivered to your doorstep

The ice cream shop offers customizable sundaes handcrafted with premium ice cream and features house-made whipped cream and cannoli cream cones.

It generally offers about 70 to 75 signature sundaes as well as 19 distinct ice cream flavors

The Jacksonville menu features:

The road from food truck to brick-and-mortar

The Scoop N Scootery was founded in 2014 by Austin Crittenden in the Boston area.

It began as a delivery-only ice cream food truck. About a year-and-a-half later, it transitioned into a brick-and-mortar storefront, according to the company website.

The goal was straightforward.

“We wanted to create a new expectation for the sundae experience and a level of convenience unknown to the ice cream game,” the website notes and emphasizes that “Sundae quality was paramount.”

Currently, the chain has five other locations open: three in Boston and one each in Charlotte, N.C. and the Dallas-Fort Worth area in Texas.

A store in Red Bank, N.J., is expected to open the week after Jacksonville debuts, Sidoruk said.

On the horizon is another Boston shop and one in the Washington, D.C. area — expected this summer, she said.

Jacksonville natural choice for Florida expansion

“The Jacksonville market and surrounding college and late-night entertainment areas will see multiple opportunities per the franchisors vision and growth,” Sidoruk said of their choice of Jacksonville for their first Florida store.

Sidoruk also said their goal is to place stores strategically across Jacksonville, St. Johns and St. Augustine.

Jacksonville would see three to five stores “as brand loyalty and following increases,” she said.

The Jacksonville shop is open from 2 p.m. to midnight Tuesday through Thursday, 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday and closed on Monday.
