The Strokes book first Wisconsin concert in 15 years in Milwaukee

It’s taken 15 years, but influential rockers the Strokes are coming back to Wisconsin.

Julian Casablancas and company will perform at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater in Milwaukee July 17 behind a new album, “Reality Awaits,” out June 26. Their last Wisconsin performance was at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in 2011 as part of Pearl Jam’s PJ20 festival.

The Strokes have assembled a strong pair of openers for Milwaukee, too: Cage The Elephant and Thundercat. It’s the only show on The Strokes’ world tour, announced April 13, with both acts.

Tickets go on sale April 17 at the box office (200 N. Harbor Drive) and amfamamp.com, with fan presale registration available through 8 a.m. April 14 at thestrokes.com. More on-sale information is available on The Strokes’ website. Prices have yet to be announced.
