Four rounds, 16 chicken joints.
Our battle to recognize one of the best chicken joints in the city has come to an end.
Week by week, a new winner emerged and the crown for best chicken joint in Tallahassee has been determined following four rounds of March Madness-style voting that started March 16. Last week’s championship found Guthrie’s facing up against locally-owned Lindy’s Chicken.
But the city has determined its champion, although you didn’t make it easy. At all.
Guthrie’s has won Tallahassee’s March Madness Chicken Spot Challenge garnering 50% of the votes to Lindy’s 49%.
Guthrie’s
The fast food joint self-dubbed as the pioneer of establishing a “chicken finger only restaurant” Guthrie’s has been in the capital city for over 30 years. Their signature meal, the “OG Box,” comes with five chicken fingers, crispy fries, Texas toast, coleslaw and “Guthrie’s Signature Sauce” along with a 20 oz. drink.
Last year, the longtime Alabama-based chicken joint with 70 locations hatched across the nation, celebrated 60 years of golden fried goodness.
Tallahassee received its first location over 30 years ago on 1818 W. Tennessee St. The other two locations are 2550 N. Monroe St. and 2870 Apalachee Parkway.
Guthrie’s has three locations in the capital city. For more info visit, guthrieschicken.com.
