Lancaster 8, Teays Valley 7: The Golden Gales opened Ohio Capital Conference-Buckeye Division play with a walk-off win when Carson Miller was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth inning against the visiting Vikings.
Levi Griener scored the winning run. Griener, Brayden Montgomery and Ben Thimmes had two hits each, and Miller finished with three RBIs. Kam Griffith picked up the win on the mound as the Gales improved to 5-0.
Berne Union 9, Fisher Catholic 0: Gage Wolford pitched a complete game, giving up four hits while striking out nine to help lead the Rockets to a Mid-State League-Cardinal Division win over the Irish.
Ethin Redinger went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, Colt Probasco was 3-for-4, including a double and an RBI, to lead the way for the Rockets (4-1, 3-0).
Fairfield Union 10, Amanda-Clearcreek 6: Brady Andrews hit a double, home run, had three RBIs and scored two runs to help lead the Falcons to an MSL-Buckeye Division win over the Aces.
Garrett Dilcher and Ashton Waldrop had two hits each, and Codie Andrews picked up the win in relief, pitching three-plus innings and finishing with eight strikeouts.
Liberty Union 9, Amanda-Clearcreek 3: Owen Thomas went the distance, giving up seven hits and striking out eight in the Lions’ MSL-Buckeye Division win over the Aces.
Fairfield Union 1, Hamilton Township 0: The Falcons scored the lone run in the top of the first inning on an RBI double from Brady Andrew. Cameron Silcott went the distance, giving up three hits while striking out nine.
Amanda-Clearcreek 12, Athens 9: The Aces scored seven runs in the fifth inning to secure a nonconference win over the Bulldogs.
Nick Holland went 3-for-3, with a triple and a double, and Cole Schiff pitched six innings in relief to pick up the win. He gave up two earned runs on six hits and had three strikeouts.
Fairfield Union 17, Maysville 2: Garrett Dilcher went 4-for-4 with five RBIs to lead the Falcons to a dominating nonconference win over the Panthers. Ashton Waldrop was 3-for-4 and scored three runs, Alex Burke and Brady Andrews had two hits and three RBIs each.
SOFTBALL
Liberty Union 17, Amanda-Clearcreek 0: Suzie Schultz gave up no runs, two hits, and struck out 10 in five innings of work.
The Lions finished with 17 hits. Ryleigh Brown went 3-for-3, including a double, home run and four RBIs. Hannah Leith was 3-for-3 with a triple, scored four runs and had two RBIs, while Emilyn Kanet and Schultz had two hits and three RBIs each.
Grove City Christian 2, Millersport 0: Despite out-hitting the Eagles, the Lakers fell short in their MSL-Cardinal-Division game.
Kendyl Bonkowski took the loss in the circle, giving up one hit, no earned runs, and striking out 12. She also led the Lakers with two hits.
