MI Dream Home: Rochester Hills home with modern makeover

Traditional on the outside and contemporary on the inside are the key ingredients that make up a Rochester Hills home.

The home at 2532 Cedar Brook Court spans 4,453 square feet with five bedrooms and five bathrooms and a partial bathroom. It is on the market for $1.55 million.

Inside is “open and airy” with wide plank hardwood flooring throughout and natural sunlight, listing agent Dan Gutfreund said.

“Designed for both everyday living and entertaining, the main level features a dramatic living room with soaring ceilings and a sleek linear fireplace, a dedicated office, and a formal dining room ideal for hosting gatherings,” its listing says.

It was bought by its current owners in 2019 and was an “ongoing project” to get it to its new contemporary-style, transitional inside with traditional exterior, Gutfruend said.

“This particular house, my clients bought it and completely gutted the entire house, so the entire interior of the home is new.

“Everything has been redone: Cabinets, bathrooms, counters, appliances are new. Basement has been refinished. It wasn’t a finished basement when they bought the house. They did install in the laundry room a dog wash station,” Gutfruend said.

The fully updated kitchen comes with KSI cabinetry, JennAir appliances, a built-in wine rack and a bright dining nook.

“There’s a lot of natural light that comes through the house; That’s the beauty of it. It faces south and the back faces north, so as you can appreciate, there’s sunlight right across this house all day long,” he said.

It has both a first-floor primary suite and an additional primary suite on the second level.

Functionality was kept in mind throughout the home with two laundry rooms, including a main-level laundry with a dog wash station and a second-floor laundry room.

The finished lower level extends the living space with a built-in bar and a dedicated fitness room.

“There’s great entertainment space in the backyard for bringing friends and family together,” he said.

Its location comes with proximity to parks, golf courses and shopping and dining in nearby downtown Rochester.

Exterior improvements include new siding, refreshed landscaping and updated heating and cooling.

“This is a really high level value home for the area. This is Rochester Hills and it’s a sought after community,” he said.

“The whole house is surrounded by beautiful homes in the area. This particular home is on a cul de sac,” he said, adding that the home has a circular driveway ideal for having guests.
