Looking for an Easter brunch? Try these Des Moines restaurants

Easter’s almost here, and for some Iowans, that means absolutely devouring whatever’s on the table for Easter brunch. If you’re not feeling like cooking up the feast for your family, here are some local restaurants that are happy to do the cooking.

Easter takes place on Sunday, April 5 in 2026. Be sure to call ahead for a reservation as Easter is always a busy day for restaurants.

AJ’s Steakhouse

AJ’s Steakhouse has an a la carte Easter brunch. Get dishes such as eggs Benedict, classic breakfast dishes, and steak bowls for $17 to $22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., or order Easter ham dinner, pan-seared walleye, or a spring berry salad, topped with chicken or salmon, for $16 to $35 available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Brunch and Bowling at Backpocket Brewing

On April 4, Backpocket Brewing will host an Easter brunch with a variety of sweet, savory and breakfast pizza options. Drink choices include mimosas, bloody marys, lattes, juice, and more. Backpocket is also offering half-price duckpin bowling for everyone, as well as face painting and photo sessions with the Easter Bunny.

Tickets are $20 for ages 13 and over, and $15 for ages 13 and under.

BeerStyles Taproom & Gastropub

BeerStyles Taproom & Gastropub offers an Easter brunch buffet that include a ham carving station, salmon and shrimp, scrambled eggs, quiche, bacon, sausage and more. Cost is $59 per person and includes all you can eat food and non-alcoholic drinks.

Big Grove Brewery & Taproom

Big Grove Brewery & Taproom hosts children and adult egg hunts and serves an Easter brunch. Egg hunts by age group run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A brunch menu includes eggs Benedict, French toast, and a platter of bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, and toast.

Filet Steakhouse

Head to Filet Steakhouse for an Easter brunch with a carving station with prime rib, brown sugar-glazed ham, and brisket, as well as bacon, sausage, cheesy eggs, Gouda hashbrowns, biscuits with sausage gravy, French toast, bacon mac and cheese, chicken tenders, ribs, fried catfish, chicken DeBurgo, blackened salmon with Cajun cream sauce, shrimp scampi, seafood pasta, breakfast burritos and more. Adults pay $44.99; children 5-12, $14.99; and children 4 and under, complimentary.

Fleming‘s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar has a two-course brunch menu on Saturday and Sunday. Choose between dishes like Sliced Tenderloin & French Onion Frittata, Shellfish Louie Salad and Surf & Turf selections.

Gilroy’s Kitchen + Pub + Patio

Brunch reservations at Gilroy’s Kitchen + Pub + Patio are available on Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5. The all-you-can-eat brunch is priced at $39.99 for adults, and kids ages 7-12 are $18.99 (kids 6 and under are free).

Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden

In addition to admission to the garden, the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden will host brunch in its cafe, Flora. The buffet will feature hot breakfast items, fruit and pastries, coffee and brunch beverages.

Tickets are $45 for adults, $22.50 for kids 3-12, and children 2 and under are free.

HoQ

On Easter at HoQ, you can order anything off the menu or opt for its three-course brunch for $40 per person.

Hy-Vee

Hy-Vee stores across Iowa will offer an Easter Brunch featuring breakfast favorites. Selections and pricing will vary by store.

Jethro’s

You can find an Easter Buffet at the Jethro’s location in Ames or Jethro’s BBQ N’ Jambalaya in Waukee. The other Jethro’s locations in the metro will offer an Easter Prime Rib Special

Machine Shed

The Easter breakfast and brunch buffet at Machine Shed includes made-to-order omelets, carved prime rib, a variety of dinner entrees and more.

The breakfast buffet runs from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at $18.99 for adults, $8.99 for kids 6-12 and free for kids 5 and under. The brunch buffet runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at $29.99 for adults, $14.99 for kids 6-12 and free for kids 5 and under.

Mulberry Street Tavern

Mulberry Street Tavern will be hosting brunch all Easter weekend with a special three-course dinner on Sunday, April 5.

OPA! Italian and Greek

Enjoy an Easter buffet with fried shrimp, chicken de Burgo, pasta diablo and more at OPA! An all-you-can eat offering is $23.99 per person.
