A cat was killed, while a kitten was rescued by firefighters, after flames tore through a double-wide mobile home in Oro Grande this week, authorities said.
The fire was first reported about 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, in the area of Marham and Mobray roads, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department. Firefighters arrived to find the structure “well-involved” with fire.
“Crews made a quick knockdown of the fire, saving a large portion of the home,” fire officials said via social media.
One cat died in the fire, officials said.
“Fortunately firefighters saved a kitten that was turned over to animal control,” the agency stated.
No residents or firefighters were hurt.
The cause of the fire initially appeared to be accidental, fire officials added.
No further details were available.
