The New York Jets appear slated to enter the 2026 NFL draft with a pretty big need at wide receiver opposite Garrett Wilson.
Where general manager Darren Mougey plans to address that hole during the draft remains to be seen. If it’s not at No. 16 overall, Mougey’s scouting staff will be tasked with identifying the appropriate mid-round talent.

One of the underrated talents the Jets should shortlist on their scouting radar is Connecticut wide receiver Skyler Bell. Firstly, Bell has terrific size for the position at 6-0, 192 pounds. The versatile wideout had a fantastic season, producing 101 receptions for 1,278 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Bell then went to the NFL Combine and continued checking boxes. The Bronx native ran the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds with a 1.53 ten-yard split. Bell also leaped a 41-inch vertical and 11-foot-1-inch broad jump.
Bell now added to his athletic profile by expanding on his testing at UConn’s pro day. The playmaking pass-catcher reportedly ran an elite three-cone time of 6.65 seconds. East-West Shrine Bowl director Eric Galko also says Bell completed the short shuttle drill in a close-to-90th percentile 4.11 seconds.
The Jets could target Bell for an instant role in their offense.
