According to the criminal complaint, at 4:52 a.m. March 15, a caller reported a stabbing in the 2800 block of Frontenac Avenue in Stevens Point. Officers learned the victim had been stabbed five times. He had two shallow cuts on his chest, a deep penetrating wound under his left arm, a cut on his left wrist and a cut on his left thumb.

The man was taken to Aspirus Wausau Hospital because of the seriousness of his injuries. He remained in the ICU at Aspirus Wausau Hospital on March 17.

Police talked to a witness that said there were different groups of people hanging out the previous night, going to different bars in downtown Stevens Point and making arrangements to meet up afterward at some sort of after party, according to the complaint. Over the course of the planning, there was an argument between Williams and another person on one side with the victim and another person on the other.

After the argument, the victim and the person with him went to Williams’ home, went inside and damaged some property, according to the complaint. The witness said she saw Williams arriving outside in a vehicle. She left and went to her vehicle outside. She saw the victim run to the vehicle, with Williams chasing him.

The witness said the victim tried to get in the car, but Williams pulled him out. She said there was a fight outside and the victim was stabbed, but she didn’t know it at the time, according to the complaint. She said Williams also stabbed all four of the vehicle’s tires, according to the complaint. The woman said she got out of the car to help the victim, saw the blood and that he was injured.

When police interviewed Williams, he admitted to stabbing the victim, according to the complaint. Williams said he saw a bulge in the victim’s clothing and thought he had a gun and was reaching for it. Police later found the gun wrapped in some clothing in the home, according to the complaint.
