NASHVILLE – Florida basketball coach Todd Golden found himself receiving a rare technical foul.
Golden picked up a technical with eight minutes left in the SEC tournament semifinals as Florida trailed Vanderbilt 74-51 at Bridgestone Arena on Saturday, March 14.
Golden was given a warning earlier in the first half after having several heated exchanges with the officials.
The crew consists of Pat Adams, Doug Shows and K.B. Burdett.
It’s only the second time this season that Golden has earned a technical foul. The previous was during UF’s win against Arkansas, when he and Jon Calipari got into a shouting match midgame.
“The tech, both of us were just coaching our team,” said Golden after the Arkansas game. “He’s obviously a Hall of Fame coach, an incredible coach and we’re just out there competing. I don’t think either of us thought twice about it after it happened, but it was a little bit part of the game tonight.”
Golden had only one technical foul called against him through his first three seasons at Florida.
