The Westfield Police Department is conducting a death investigation after a man was found dead from trauma.
At 7:24 p.m., on March 12, Westfield police were called about a person down inside a home in the 3900 block of Westfield Road. Officers found James “Matt” Lushin, 47, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The department said in a Facebook post that the death is being investigated as a homicide.
“We extend our sincere sympathy to the family, friends, and associates of Mr. Lushin during this difficult time,” the department said. “Detectives… are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident and continue to canvass the area for potential witnesses and additional information.”
