Wisconsin guard Nick Boyd has officially been named among the best players in the Big Ten in his lone season in the conference.
Big Ten coaches and media both voted the UW star to the all-Big Ten second team, the conference announced March 10.
The former Florida Atlantic / San Diego State star missed out on first-team recognition despite ranking fifth in the Big Ten with 20.1 points per game and averaging 22.7 points per game against ranked opponents.
Fellow Wisconsin guard John Blackwell earned third-team all-Big Ten recognition from both coaches and media. Blackwell has averaged 18.3 points per game while shooting 41.2% in 30 games this season. His 3-point shooting improved from 32.8% in 2024-25 to 38% in 2025-26.
Wisconsin assistant coach Sharif Chambliss was the Big Ten’s Howard Moore Assistant Coach of the Year. Chambliss is in his fifth season on Greg Gard’s staff after past coaching stops at Wright State, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Platteville and Francis Marion University. He has the assistant coach position at UW that Moore once had.
A panel of USA TODAY Network voters also included Boyd on its all-Big Ten second team. He was the only honoree from the Badgers although Blackwell received votes for all-Big Ten consideration. Wisconsin coach Greg Gard also received a vote for the USA TODAY Network’s Big Ten Coach of the Year, which went to Nebraska’s Fred Hoiberg.
