A new restaurant is opening in downtown Binghamton, offering a space for great cocktails and shareable bites.
The Upper Crust, located at 15 Hawley St. in Binghamton, is set to fully open the weekend of March 13, and co-owner Chrissy Pasquale-Urso says she hopes the restaurant will allow customers to both “gather” and “linger.”
Pasquale-Urso, 41, along with her husband Andrew Urso, 43, of Endwell, took over 15 Hawley St., the former Stone Fox restaurant, in the summer of 2025.
While the couple were investors in the Stone Fox, Pasquale-Urso said they decided to buy out the business after the restaurant closed in February 2025, in order to bring some life back into the space.
“It was a lot of just opportunity that we felt like was still there to make something, change things around and bring in a whole new crowd of people,” Pasquale-Urso said. “I think it just needed a breath of fresh air.”
With a full coffee bar, lunch options, appetizers, an extensive wine list and cocktails, The Upper Crust should offer a little something for everyone.
What is on the menu at The Upper Crust?
The restaurant will feature a variety of options, although Pasquale-Urso said The Upper Crust will focus on shareables — something for a few friends to snack on over cocktails — including various styles of pizza, charcuterie boards and mezze boards.
Along with the quick bites and full bar, the menu will also offer sandwich and soup options for lunch, including beef on weck, a smash burger, chicken gyro and a turkey sandwich, plus an all-day coffee bar.
For those who are looking for a quick lunch, Pasquale-Urso said the restaurant is hoping to offer an “express lunch” style as well, with pre-ordering and easy pickup.
“People don’t have the luxury of time sometimes,” she said. “So something that you can kind of grab and also enjoy the deck and get some fresh air.”
The Upper Crust will feature both indoor dining and seating on the patio, and Pasquale-Urso said their decor and aesthetic is a “playful nod to the Gilded Age,” inspired by a trip to Newport, RI.
In walking through mansions filled with oil paintings, Pasquale-Urso was inspired to transfer the theme into the restaurant, but with a little twist.
The Upper Crust hours, future happenings
While the exact hours of the restaurant are still slightly undetermined, Pasquale-Urso said they plan to start by being open for dinner Thursday-Sunday. They will then move to being open for brunch Saturday-Sunday before ultimately being open for weekday lunch.
The Upper Crust did offer a condensed version of the drink and food menus for Binghamton’s Parade Day on March 7, but the restaurant will be fully open at 5 p.m. starting the weekend of March 13.
Along with the regular restaurant, the owners plan to offer pizza classes one Tuesday a month, allowing guests to make and enjoy their own pizza along with a cocktail and dessert.
