Trent McDuffie won’t be the only former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback roaming the Los Angeles Rams’ secondary in 2026. On the first day of free agency, the Rams agreed to terms on a three-year deal with Chiefs corner Jaylen Watson.
Watson was viewed as one of the top free-agent corners on the market this year and the Rams wasted no time reuniting him with McDuffie in Los Angeles. The terms of the contract have not yet been disclosed but it’s expected to be a lucrative deal for Watson.
Watson came into the NFL as a seventh-round pick in 2022, the same year McDuffie was drafted in the first round. He’s played 53 games and made 29 starts, intercepting three passes with 178 total tackles.
The deal can’t be signed until Wednesday afternoon when the new league year begins, but it is agreed to.
Update 12:52 p.m. ET: The deal is worth $51 million for three years, including $34 million guaranteed.
