VOTE: Most outstanding girls basketball player at 2026 Iowa state tournament

The 2026 Iowa high school girls state basketball tournament is in the books.

Between Friday and Saturday night, five new champions were crowned and plenty of players put on a show throughout the 2025-26 season.

Each player on the title-winning teams faced a daunting challenge when they arrived at Casey’s Center at the start of competition on March 2, but they all made it through the gauntlet unscathed to earn the right to call themselves state champions.

While all five teams are state title winners forever, the Des Moines Register has left it to the fans to decide which player was the most impressive over the last week of competition. Nominees of this poll were chosen from the top performers from each title-winning team in the championship game. There is also a write-in option for fans who want to cast their vote for another stellar player.

Readers will have until 11:59 p.m. on March 22 to cast their vote in our fan poll for who they think was the most outstanding player at this year’s IGHSAU basketball tournament.

The results of this fan poll will not influence who the Register picks as its Player of the Year at the end of the academic calendar.
