It’s no secret that Florida State, in the last 10 years or so, has not lived up to the expectations equal to the Bobby Bowden era. 2026 may very well be Mike Norvell’s last chance at rebuilding (or recalibrating) his team after a 2024 season where they fell off a cliff, and an underwhelming 2025.
As such, The Athletic’s Ralph D. Russo wrote a piece discussing who the future head coach of every Power Four team might be in the year 2030. In it, he predicts that Norvell will eventually be succeeded by Kenny Dillingham, the current head coach of the Arizona State Sun Devils. Norvell is looking to improve upon his 38-34 record with Florida State in 2026.
Dillingham, who has led the Sun Devils to a 22-17 record in three years with an appearance in both the Sun Bowl and the Peach Bowl, won the 2024 Big 12 Coach of the Year award for his efforts. His Sun Devils were ranked as high as No. 7 in 2024.
It should be noted that this is merely a prediction and does not reflect reality. This is four years into the future, after all.
