Texas A&M (20-10, 10-7 SEC) will look to end the 2025-2026 regular season with a win, facing LSU on the road just three days after defeating Kentucky 96-85 on Tuesday night, led by senior guard Rylan Griffen’s 21 points, while four Aggies scored in double figures. Needing to defeat the Wildcats to stay in contention for the NCAA Tournament, defeating LSU is equally crucial.
Focused on the small details, first-year head coach Bucky McMillan deserves a ton of credit for making changes to the starting lineup for the first time in SEC play, especially placing sophomore guard Rubén Dominguez, who, amid his shooting slump, scored 17 points, including five threes, while singelhandedly bring the Aggies back from a 30-18 first-half deficit.
Throughout conference play, Texas A&M has stayed relatively healthy, while the loss of Indiana transfer forward Mackenzie Mgbako, who is widely regarded as the roster’s best player, has been injured since non-conference play, while senior guard Marcus Hill’s knee injury didn’t keep him off the court, but after fully healing, the NC State transfer has been one of the more reliable scorers.
On Friday, the first injury report before the Aggies face LSU did not change from last week. While senior guard Jacari Lane and sophomore forward Jamie Vinson were healthy scratches against Kentucky, everyone, except for Mgbako, will be available on Saturday.
For LSU, Jalen Reed and Dedan Thomas are the only players listed as “OUT,” but have not played for months, and are currently out for the season.
