Chenango Valley High School hosted the 2025-26 Competitive Cheer Sectionals, in which several high school cheer teams competed for berths in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) cheer championships that will take place on March 7, at Visions Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton.
Of the many Section 4 teams that showcased some of their best routines throughout the afternoon, Union-Endicott, Horseheads, Chenango Valley, Seton Catholic Central and Oneonta, were crowned class champions.
Union-Endicott has stood out in recent years, having jumped from Class B to Class A and still staying true to the team’s commitment, claiming the championship both last year (Class B) and this year (Class A). Alongside U-E, Chenango Valley (Class C) and Seton Catholic Central (Class D) also brought home the Section 4 title in back-to-back seasons.
The Horseheads varsity cheer squad added another championship win this year, having won the Class B championship with an overall score of 84.15, in addition to placing first in the Southern Tier Athletic Conference championship with an overall score of 92.60 out of 100.
Many more teams stood out in this year’s sectionals. Here are the final scores from each class championship:
Section IV Class A Championship
1. Union-Endicott 66.75

3. Corning 34.70
