Texas A&M Hall of Famer and Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend Mike Evans will return to the NFL for his 13th season. Despite injuries limiting him to eight games last year, the former Aggie still has plenty left in the tank and is looking to rebound as he enters free agency.
Evans opened the 2025 season with a chance to break yet another NFL record, but for the first time in his 12‑year career, he fell short of the 1,000‑yard mark. On Tuesday, Buccaneers management confirmed that the franchise’s all‑time leading receiver will return for the 2026 season and explore his options on the open market.
For Aggie fans, the idea of Evans returning to Texas—whether with the Dallas Cowboys or the Houston Texans—has obvious appeal. At this point, the Texans appear to be the more realistic landing spot, but wherever he signs, that team is getting a champion, a future NFL Hall of Famer, and a veteran presence who can elevate an entire wide receiver room.
