Following a period of extreme cold in the Binghamton area, temperatures will finally rise during the week of Feb. 9.
Expect possible precipitation, with a chance of snow, rain and freezing rain through Feb. 12. Daytime temperatures will remain around the mid-30s to high-20s, while temperatures will drop to the mid-20s and mid-teens in the evening.
The National Weather Service issued an extreme cold watch between Feb. 6-8, with temperatures beginning to rise on Feb. 9.
Tuesday, Feb. 10
Feb. 10 may bring snow showers to the Binghamton area, with a chance before 1 p.m., a chance of freezing rain between 1-2 p.m. and a chance of rain after 2 p.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 35.
Expect a calm wind and 50% chance of precipitation.
Precipitation may continue into the evening hours, with a chance of rain showers before 9 p.m., a chance of freezing rain between 9-11 p.m. and a chance of snow showers after 11 p.m. Skies will remain cloudy, with a low around 25.
Expect 6 mph winds, with a 40% chance of precipitation.
Wednesday, Feb. 11
Feb. 11 may bring more precipitation, with a 40% chance of snow showers. The day will be mostly cloudy, with a high around 33 and a 7-11 mph wind.
Expect mostly cloudy skies in the evening, with a low around 20 degrees. There will be a 30% chance of precipitation, with a chance of snow showers and 7-11 mph winds.
Thursday, Feb. 12
Chances of precipitation will remain at 30% on Feb. 12, with a chance of snow showers before 1 p.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 28.
The night will bring the week’s first with no chance of precipitation, and skies will remain mostly cloudy, with a low around 15.
