Packers Foundation opens grant applications, with some key changes

The Green Bay Packers Foundation is accepting applications for the next two months for its annual grant program, which in 2025 provided $1.5 million to 395 Wisconsin civic and charitable organizations.

The call for applications is earlier than in the past, one of two significant changes in the program. The other is that giving now is on a four-year cycle instead of a three-year cycle.

This year’s grants will be awarded for animal welfare, homelessness and human services programs. Applications will be accepted until April 1.

Applications and other information are available at packers.com/community/packers-foundation.

Changes were made because of an increase in applications and to give foundation trustees time to evaluate each application, the foundation said.

In 2025, grants were awarded for animal welfare, health and wellness, civic and community initiatives and environmental causes.

The new rotation is:

The foundation will accept only one grant application from an eligible organization during each four-year cycle. Organizations that applied for a grant during the 2023–2025 three-year cycle can apply once during the 2026–2029 four-year cycle.

Organizations classified as exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code, with a valid IRS Tax ID for a minimum of two years, and are located in Wisconsin are eligible to apply for a grant.

Grant amounts can range from $3,000 to $8,000. Recipients might not receive the total amount requested. Grant distributions vary annually based on the number of applications and the total amount of available funding. All grant applications will be reviewed by the foundation trustees, who will finalize the list of grant recipients in July.

A public announcement of the grant recipients will take place in August or September.
