Bloomington could get 1 to 2 more inches of snow tonight, NWS says

The Bloomington area could get up to 2 inches of snow overnight — though forecasters say it’s still too early to determine the snowstorm’s path.

Aaron Updike, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, said that a “narrow band” of snow will travel through south central Indiana early Tuesday morning. Potential flurries could begin between 2 to 4 a.m. and end between 10 a.m. to noon. The chance of precipitation in Bloomington is approximately 30%.

Bloomington due for ‘a few inches, or not much at all’

Updike said the narrow nature of the storm system makes it difficult to determine exactly which areas in the region will get snow.

“Depending on where it ends up, Bloomington could get a few inches, or not much at all,” Updike said.

Temperatures will continue to be variable throughout the week, with highs ranging from 26 to 37 degrees Fahrenheit, and lows between 24 and 8 degrees Fahrenheit.

Updike says people can continue to monitor Bloomington’s forecast on the NWS’ website, forecast.weather.gov.
