Texans expected to hire Giants assistant O-Line coach James Ferentz

Former New York Giants assistant offensive line coach James Ferentz is reportedly joining DeMeco Ryans’ staff with the Houston Texans.

Ferentz, 36, spent the last two years assisting Carmen Bricillo with the Giants under, first, Brian Daboll and then Mike Kafka.

The current Texans’ offensive line coach is Cole Popovich, and his assistant is Zach Yenser, so it’s unclear what Ferentz’s role will be. The offensive coordinator is Nick Caley.

Ferentz was a two-time Super Bowl champion as a player with the New England Patriots. Coaching is in his blood. His father, Kirk Ferentz, has been the head football coach at Iowa since 1999.
