GREENBUSH – Wade House will offer horse-drawn sleigh rides in February, according to a community announcement.
The historic site in Greenbush is hosting “Over the River and Through the Woods” sleigh rides from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 14. The rides will be offered every half hour throughout the day.
Horse-drawn sleigh rides, snowshoeing and more planned
Guests can ride a horse-drawn sleigh or wagon through the northern reaches of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. Tickets are $15 for adults and teens, $13 for seniors, $8 for children and $5 for children younger than 5. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made at wadehouse.org. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, both in advance and on the day of the event.
If there is no snow, horse-drawn wagon rides will be offered instead.
In addition to the sleigh or wagon rides, guests can view Wesley W. Jung’s collection of horse-drawn vehicles in the carriage museum. The sleigh ride fee also includes the use of snowshoes to explore Wade House’s 240-acre grounds. Snowshoes will be loaned on a first-come, first-served basis.
