Kliff Kingsbury 'expected to be in the mix' for New York Giants OC job

The New York Giants are actively searching for an offensive coordinator under new head coach John Harbaugh, following their unsuccessful pursuit of Todd Monken, who joined the Cleveland Browns.

The vacancy comes as the team aims to build around quarterback Jaxson Dart, emphasizing a coordinator with proven play-calling experience to maximize his mobility and development.

Kliff Kingsbury has emerged as a prominent candidate likely to be in the mix, reports Jordan Raanan of ESPN.

He was the offensive coordinator the past two seasons for Washington and has a strong track record of calling plays. Kingsbury is expected to be in the mix, especially after he was on the fringe of their head coaching search.

Kingsbury, 46, previously served as offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders in 2024 and 2025, where he helped orchestrate a high-powered attack featuring rookie sensation Jayden Daniels. Before that, he was head coach of the Arizona Cardinals from 2019 to 2022, posting a 28-37-1 record and showcasing his innovative offensive schemes.

His earlier college success at Texas Tech further underscores his reputation as one of the league’s bright offensive minds.

Kingsbury was considered on the periphery during the Giants’ recent head coaching process before Harbaugh was hired.

Other reported offensive coordinator candidates include Jim Bob Cooter, Davis Webb, Josh McCown, and Alex Tanney, but Kingsbury’s blend of NFL head-coaching tenure and recent coordinator success positions him strongly for the role.
