Bargain shoppers rejoice: A new discount store has moved into town.
Dahdoul Inc. has officially taken over the old Victorville Big Lots location on La Paz Drive.
The High Desert store is the third of its kind. According to the store manager, Kristen Garcia, the Orange County Dahdoul family also has bin stores in West Covina and the City of Commerce.
Items in the Amazon bins start at $4, with clothing starting at $3. Goods are scattered throughout the wooden troughs, finders-keepers style.
Dahdoul opened its doors to Victorville residents on Oct. 31, 2025, and three months later, the store is still packed with couples, families and solo bargain shoppers hoping to save.
Big Lots goes bankrupt
The Victorville location announced plans for closure in August 2024, right before Big Lots filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September. By December, the retail store began going-out-of-business sales at its remaining locations.
Hundreds of Big Lots stores were spared from closure after an agreement to sell with Gordon Brothers Retail Partners in late 2024.
At the time, the Daily Press covered the announcement of the sale of Big Lots, it was unclear whether the Big Lots store in Hesperia or the store and shuttered distribution center in Apple Valley would be resurrected. However, phone numbers to both locations have since been disconnected, leaving High Desert residents questioning whether Big Lots is officially a store of the past.
